Curriculum Creation and Collaboration

The use of high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials can lead to improved student achievement. Ohio's Educational Service Centers support schools in the adoption and implementation of high-quality curriculum content that improves outcomes for all students, particularly those who are marginalized and underserved. To learn more about this service offered by the ESCs, contact the Support Squad Concierge Team. Attend the INFOhio web conference, Instructional Materials Matter, to learn more about the tools and resources featured in the RemotEDx Exchange Curriculum Library.

Access to high-quality content creation, sharing, and collaboration tools is essential to successful curriculum development. Open Space, from INFOhio, provides Ohio educators and education agencies with free access to tools and resources that promote the development and sharing of quality learning objects.

INFOhio Open Space

INFOhio's Open Space is Ohio's PreK-12 curriculum collaboration and creation platform. In Open Space, educators and Ohio education content providers can:

  • Share learning objects and resources, and align them to Ohio Learning Standards, to increase awareness and use.
  • Collaborate with educators statewide to share resources and build communities of practice.
  • Build lesson plans, supplemental course materials, or even entire textbooks.

Training & Support

  • INFOhio Learning Pathways: Open Space Collaboration and Creation Class - In this class, participants learn about working in public and private groups, submitting resources, and remixing existing Open Educational Resources. After successfully completing the final quiz for the Open Space Collaboration and Creation class, earn a certificate for three contact hours.
  • INFOhio Content Provider Open Space Training Part 1 and Part 2 - INFOhio hosted two training webinars to learn how to contribute content to Open Space. The first session is a prerequisite to the second session. The first session will focus on navigating Open Space, creating an account, adding individual items from your organization’s website, and applying metadata to make your items easier for educators to find. The second session's focus is learning how to bulk upload content.
  • ESC Staff - Contact the Support Squad Concierge Team to find a staff member in your Educational Service Center who can provide training in your school or district on using Open Space and support your curriculum adoption, development, and implementation needs.
